New York Cares Day |
Join the Big Apple Big 10 Team as we paint a brighter future for New York City public school students on New York Cares Day.
New York Cares Day is a volunteer and fundraising opportunity benefiting New York City Schools and New York Cares. Over 8,000 people will be volunteering to revitalize more than 100 public schools, creating safer and more stimulating environments in which children will learn and grow. Tasks include painting colorful murals; adding bright new line games to playgrounds; organizing school libraries; planting flowers; and performing other vital tasks to create great learning environments impacting over 88,000 NYC public school students. To Register: go to www.newyorkcaresday.org, click Register Here, select Join a Team and choose Big Apple Big Ten from the drop down menu and complete the registration form. Please sign up by October 10 to be guaranteed a spot. We'll be volunteering at the Secondary School for Law, a small (540 students total) school in Park Slope, Brooklyn, serving grades 6-12. The school is dedicated to preparing tomorrow's leaders in the areas of law and public service and provides a challenging curriculum that includes Law classes to meet this goal. Our volunteer tasks range from mural painting to reorganizing library materials to gardening. See our team page for more details!
