About the Honoree:
Bill Geist, '68 MEDIA has been a correspondent for CBS News Sunday Morning since he joined CBS News in 1987. The two-time Emmy Award winner has lent his unique brand of storytelling to many television shows, publications, and Web sites, including CBS Evening News, 60Minutes II, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Esquire, The New York Times, and the Chicago Tribune. The best-selling author of seven books received the 2009 Alumni Achievement Award from the University of Illinois Alumni Association and in 2005 the University awarded Geist with anhonorary degree. Geist was born in Champaign and graduated from Champaign Central High School. He and his wife, Jody Geist, '68 MEDIA have two children.
